OUGD601 - Practical - LED Lightbulb Packaging - Layout Development of Initial Idea 2

Layout Development 2

Light bulb talking to the consumer – Highlights the practical benefits of the product as well as the environmental benefits

- Cutting the lightbulb into sections and replacing other sections with text, abstract the the bulb too much and look a little odd.

- Placing the text over an image of a light bulb makes the text not stand out as much as when on the white background.
- Potentially the box could be plastic so that the left could be printed and the product could be seen behind, however the use of this material is not very environmentally friendly despite being recyclable.
- Using the energy efficiency colours (the top three, which are different shades of green) for each of the words creates a sense of the product being better for the environment using only the colour of the text.
- Having the text in capitals and in a large point size allows the message to be impactful, whilst reducing the phrase to three words on each side allows the messages to be clear and easy to understand for the consumer.

- Placing the text above a section of the light bulb is most effective at creating a sense of the words being thought or spoken by the lightbulb in a subtle way without the use of a speech bubble or thought bubble.

- Having a small lightbulb on each side of the package with the words left or right aligned so that the text stretches away from the bulb, creates a greater sense of the writing coming from the lightbulb.
- Spreading the text over three lines allows the text to create a shape which becomes almost like a bubble shape.
