Initial Creative Thinking Tool Brief 

The first brief was written out to help generate ideas for a design that would aide the idea generation process. 



Brief title

Aiding idea generation within the Design Process


Brief (outline the general aims of the project)

-         Create a printed product that aids idea generation within the design process
-         The outcome should be applicable to a target audience of designers of different disciplines and skill levels 
-         It should be suitable for individual and group use and act as a way of generating ideas
-         The outcome must have an engaging format that is functional, easy to use and adaptable to different projects
-         The product should allow designers to use it alongside their design process
-         The design should use relevant idea generation theories and techniques as a basis for the concept.



Background / considerations

-         How does idea generation fit within the design process?
-         What creative thinking theories and techniques exist?
-         How can these idea generation techniques and theories be applied to aide the idea generation process?
-         Which are most relevant to the idea generation phase and are some used more than others?
-         Will the product focus on enhancing one technique that is used for idea generation or will it look at the idea generation process as a whole?
-         How can the outcome work with the design process to successfully aide any project?



Deliverables

-         Blog –  All blog posts must be labelled OUGD501 and must document all stages of the project and relating theoretical research
-         6 x Design Boards outlining the project
-         Evaluation of the project
-         Final Outcome


Mandatory requirements (essential requirements that must be followed)

-         The outcome must work in conjunction with and aide the idea generation phase in the design process
-         It must use idea generation techniques / theories as a basis for the outcome
-         The outcome must be a functioning product
